Every golfer wants to hit the ball further, and Atlanta golf instructor and long drive competitor John Marshall helps them do it. He is a 2005 and 2006 American Long Drivers Association Super Senior National Championship and a five-time RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finalist. He teaches a swing developed by legendary long driver Mike Austin whose 515 yard drive at the 1974 U.S. Senior Open is the longest recorded tee shot in the history of competitive golf. The swing is different from the conventional golf swing in that it utilizes additional levers to create more club head speed.
Mr. Marshall is certified by the United States Golf Teachers Federation, the Titleist Performance Institute and Impact Zone Golf and offers comprehensive instruction at Steel Canyon Golf Club in Sandy Springs.
He has been a volunteer instructor at the First Tee program since 2002 and was recently nominated as one of the top instructors in Georgia by Golf Digest magazine and as well as one of the country’s top junior instructors by U.S. Kids Golf. He is also an instructor for the Golf Channel’s Swing Fix program.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Junior Golf Association and Georgia State Golf Association. Additional information is available at www.jmlongdrive.com.

Hi, let me take a minute to introduce myself. I am a Class A member of the PGA of America since 1985 and have been teaching golf in China for the past seven years at the request of the Chinese government. I am now back in Atlanta and teaching right here at Steel Canyon. I teach a simple and easy to follow motion which will lead you to a very consistent and repeatable golf swing so we can get those scores down and enjoy your round more. Have you ever wondered why you have played golf for over 5 years and still have trouble breaking 100? And then see a 10 year old child who has played for only 2 years and regularly shooting 84 on a 6,500 yard course in tournaments. Perhaps you were taught to swing with the improper golf swing. More practice is not your answer, this only helps you to cement your bad habits! Inconsistent swings comes from using your hands in the swing. Your hands have only one job in the golf swing and that is to hold the club. Let me show you how to produce strong, repeatable golf swings with a very simple and relaxed motion. Learn to play golf the simple PGA of America way used by the top swing coaches in the world and learn to swing like a golf machine. Contact me at 239.465.6016 to get started immediately. Just $250. Will get you started with your first four 45 minute lessons taken at your convenience.
